How Planet Zoo 2 Franchise mode works
Planet Zoo 2 Franchise mode is the async cross-platform zoo sharing and animal trading system. Players run a persistent zoo that other Franchise players can see, and they receive asynchronous animal offers that they can accept or reject. The Franchise Animal Marketplace runs across PC (Steam and Epic), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, and trades are async. There is no live co-op or shared-session play inside Franchise; the only player-to-player contact is the trade and the Frontier Workshop content sharing. The Franchise Animal Marketplace is the only async place in the game where one player can move an animal into another player's Franchise Animal Storage.
Franchise Animal Storage and the cap
Every Franchise save has a finite Franchise Animal Storage cap, and every accepted offer counts against the cap. Plan the adoption, breeding, and trade cadence to keep space for incoming offers. The cap is the main constraint on the breeding pipeline inside Franchise: a breeding programme that holds offspring for one or two generations before they are traded keeps the cap stable, while holding offspring for three or more generations will overflow it. The most efficient Franchise workflow is to keep the core breeding pair, accept targeted offers that match the breeding plan, and trade or release surplus offspring as soon as the welfare check and the genetic value of the offspring are confirmed.
The async trading flow inside Planet Zoo 2 Franchise
Build the zoo
Run a Franchise zoo to the point where the welfare check is green and the 5-Star Zoo Reputation bar is high.
Send offers
Open the Franchise Animal Marketplace and send offers to other Franchise players. Offers list the species, sex, age, and any lineage markers the seller wants to advertise.
Receive offers
Receive asynchronous offers from other players, and accept or reject each one. The accepted offer moves the animal into the player's Franchise Animal Storage and counts against the cap.
Release from storage
Release accepted animals from Franchise Animal Storage into a habitat inside the Franchise zoo when the player has a matching welfare setup ready.
Franchise mode versus the Frontier Workshop
Franchise mode and the Frontier Workshop are two separate community systems in Planet Zoo 2. Franchise is for the async animal marketplace and for cross-platform zoo sharing. The Frontier Workshop is for uploading and downloading blueprints, scenery builds, and piece-by-piece creations. Players use both at the same time without conflict, because uploads and downloads do not change Franchise Animal Storage and trades do not consume the Frontier Workshop. The cross-platform scope is the same for both: PC (Steam and Epic), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
