Research unlocks the optional Prospering state per species. The breeding programme feeds the Franchise Animal Marketplace. Wildlife Reserve accreditation tracks per-reserve conservation. All three feed the 5-Star bar.

Research projects and the optional Prospering state in Planet Zoo 2

Planet Zoo 2 research projects are the path to the optional Prospering welfare state for each species. Prospering rewards longer lifespans, higher guest donations, and stronger education impact. The research is unlocked through education delivery and through the conservation record, and the projects themselves are visible in the staff menu. Each species has its own research list, and the items are species-specific to the wild needs of the animal. Lifting species into the Prospering state is the single highest-leverage welfare action because it adds welfare, donations, and education impact at the same time.

Breeding programme and the conservation record in Planet Zoo 2

The Planet Zoo 2 breeding programme links the Animal Trading menu, the Franchise Animal Marketplace, and the conservation record. The most efficient workflow is to keep the core breeding pair, accept targeted Franchise offers that match the breeding plan, and trade or release surplus offspring as soon as the welfare check and the genetic value of the offspring are confirmed. The conservation record tracks every species the player has bred, released, and researched, and the record feeds the 5-Star Zoo Reputation bar through the Sustainability factor. The 39 achievements include a Conservation milestone that counts conservation project completions.

Wildlife Reserve accreditation in Planet Zoo 2

Wildlife Reserve accreditation is the per-reserve status that tracks conservation projects inside each Planet Zoo 2 Wildlife Reserve. Accreditation is granted when the player completes the conservation project list, releases species in species-appropriate groups, and maintains biodiversity above a threshold. The accreditation status is separate from the 5-Star Zoo Reputation bar, but the two are linked through the Sustainability factor of the bar. The Scottish Highland Wildlife Reserve and the Sumatran Rainforest Wildlife Reserve are the representative regions for the Temperate and Tropical biomes, and the conservation project lists differ per region.
